Now that Windtrace is back in Genshin Impact 2.4, many players are wondering if it’s possible to cheat the game, especially as there are several rumors about it.
Genshin Impact developer miHoYo has been pretty adamant against cheating, and players using third-party programs have been banned in the past. Any type of modification is targeted too, as even mods, not actual cheats, have gotten players banned before.

Are there any cheats in the Windtrace Event of Genshin Impact 2.4?
As far as we know, miHoYo has not included any hidden cheats or functions in Windtrace, as in “legit” in-game cheats. Such as entering a specific command or a special maneuver that will help you catch the Rebels or stay hidden from the Hunter.
Meanwhile, the first version of Windtrace back in mid-2021 had several ways to “cheat”. Mainly through bugs, such as out-of-bounds bugs: going somewhere you normally can’t reach in the map to stay hidden. In the past players could most notably enter Dawn Winery in its map. However, it looks like miHoYo corrected all those cheats-like bugs.
Mona and Ayaka’s Sprint abilities
Moreover, one of the ways to “cheat” in the original Windtrace was playing as Mona or Ayaka. Lucky players who owned one of these 5-Star characters could use their Alternate Sprint Talent in Windtrace to stay relatively hidden while moving.
This was pretty efficient as most players won’t notice other players’ special effects while in co-op, especially if they lowered their graphics settings. It’s much harder to spot another player’s Ayaka’s or Mona’s sprinting effect than your own.
However, in Windtrace 2.4, miHoYo has deactivated all Alternate Sprint Talents.
Long story short, there is no way to cheat in Windtrace. And if someone you know is bragging and claiming they’re cheating in Windtrace and easily getting wins, they’re probably lying.
