The first two episodes of Marvel’s Hawkeye are currently streaming on Disney+ bringing forth new characters of MCU. One such character is Echo aka Maya Lopez that has been garnering a lot of attention.
So here’s a brief intro of Echo in Marvel comics as well as the MCU’s brand new show Hawkeye that is given below.

Echo In Marvel Comics
In Marvel comics, Maya Lopez is a Native American who was born deaf who was born deaf but she is gifted in other ways. Since childhood, Maya had the ability to replicate any physical move she saw.
After her father is murdered by his own boss, the Kingpin, Maya Lopez is adopted by him. She grows up to become an expert fighter and a concert pianist. Later on, she takes the up the alias Echo as she works to take down Daredevil, when Kingpin tells her that Daredevil was responsible for killing her father.
Echo hunts down Matt Murdock to get her revenge, which leads to her discovering the truth that Kingpin killed her father.
Echo aka Maya Lopez Is MCU’s New Villain
In the TV show Hawekeye, Echo appears at the end of first two episodes. Due to her short lived appearance in those two episodes, it is hard to say what kind of role she’d be playing in the MCU.
But given that Echo is introduced after Clint tries to figure out who is in charge of the goons that make up the Tracksuit Mafia, it seems that she is going to be a villain in most likelihood.
While Echo’s overall mission in Marvel’s Hawkeye show is unclear at the moment, it is pretty clear that she holds a good amount of power in New York’s criminal underworld. This shows how big of a threat she already is for Clint and Kate.
